Did You Get What You Asked For?

Did You Get What You Asked For?

I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas and New Year celebrations. When discussing mine with various friends I got to thinking about data (as is my wont) and I have an important question for you: Did you get what you asked for?

Data Princesses And Knights

Data Princesses And Knights

It has dawned on me that from reading my data governance tales so far, you may have the impression that I am a narrator, a teller of Data Governance stories. In this blog I want to put the record straight, for that is not at all the case and I very much have a role to play.  This blog is a tale of transformations, as initially I cast myself in the wrong role...

The Data Steward And The Pain

The Data Steward And The Pain

A Rose By Any Other Name

A Rose By Any Other Name

To quote Juliet in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet "What's in a name? That which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet."

You don’t have to have studied Romeo and Juliet at school, seen the play or even have read it, to know the saying “a rose by any other name…”. As with many Shakespearean quotes this one gets used in our everyday lives and if you’ve been reading my previous blogs, you will be starting to pick up on the fact that I often view the world through data governance tinted spectacles.
